💡 Shared Progress: Progress is shared across all characters, simplifying multi-character play.
Alongside, The Final Shape expansion, Bungie has released an all new Destiny 2 Pathfinder system, aimed at replacing traditional bounties, patrols, and weekly vendor challenges. This new system promises to streamline and enhance the player experience by offering a more engaging and less repetitive way to earn rewards and XP.
Pathfinder System Overview
What is Pathfinder?
First revealed in a TWAB, the Pathfinder system is a significant update that replaces several existing systems in Destiny 2:
Bounties
Patrols
Weekly Vendor Challenges
The Pathfinder system aims to reduce the need for players to sit in orbit or use external tools to manage bounties. Instead, it introduces a series of objectives that players can complete to earn rewards.
Each Pathfinder consists of 20 objectives across five narrowing tiers. Players can progress through all objectives simultaneously but can only claim the loot at the end of a completed path. Once a path from left to right is completed, players can reset the Pathfinder, which will then change the objectives using a mix of authorial control and procedural generation. This ensures that each reset provides a unique experience.
What Happens at Weekly Reset?
Is progress lost?
Every week, Pathfinder progress is reset, and players are given a new set of objectives to complete. This weekly reset ensures that every player starts with the same goals each week.
Is Progress Shared?
In short, yes.
One of the key features of the Pathfinder system is that progress is shared across all characters. This is particularly beneficial for players who play with multiple characters, as it allows them to progress without having to repeat objectives for each character.
